Irlanda 2012 Lifesaving Conference. Abierto el plazo de presentación de comunicaciones.

La organización irlandesa The Lifesaving Foundation, ha publicado el primer llamamiento para que los autores presenten comunicaciones al Congreso de 2012, que tendrá lugar los días 27 a 29 de Septiembre del próximo año. El tema principal del Congreso será la morbilidad por ahogamiento, es decir, la cuantificación de las personas que fallecen por ahogamiento y el estudio de sus causas y su prevención.

El Congreso cuenta ya con tres conferenciantes del máximo nivel:
- Dr. John Pearn, Pediatra del Royal Children Hospital, de Queensland, Australia.
- Dra. Jan Holden, de la Universidad de North Texas y experto en experiencias de personas cercanas a la muerte.
- Dr. Francesco Pia, miembro de la Asociación Americana de Psicólogos, consejero de la Cruz Roja Americana y cuyos trabajos pioneros sobre la Respuesta Instintiva de Ahogamiento sentaron las bases del Socorrismo Acuático moderno.

El plazo de envío de resúmenes para la presentación de trabajos está abierto, y dado que se trata de un Congreso con un reducido número de espacios animamos a todos los autores españoles a presentar sus trabajos, contactando con John Connolly.

Attached is the first call brochure for the Lifesaving Foundation's 2012 Conference.
This conference is designed to be a small intimate conference bringing lifesavers together at one venue for 3 -5 days. The number of presentations will be small (20 - 25) to allow time for discussion and only one presentation at a time. This first call for papers has been restricted to part-presenters and persons who have previously expressed an interest in participating at a conferece.
If you are interested and available or might be available please respond so I can assess whether we will need to widen the call to the general lifesaving community.
If you wish to attend and present but are not sure of the topic thats OK for now. If you have a colleague who is interested they can register also. Later we will send our an invitation for non-presenting participants. The programme has a number of discussion sessions along with discussion time after each presentation. You may also register a wish to attend as a non-presenter at this time.
